Syncsort Taps Technology and Wall Street Veteran as CFO to Support Aggressive Growth Strategy
Krish Venkataraman Brings 20 Years’ Experience at Top Firms to Executive Leadership Team
WOODCLIFF LAKE, N.J. – March 11, 2014
Syncsort, a global leader in high-performance Big Data software, today announced that it has appointed technology and Wall Street veteran Krish Venkataraman to its leadership team as chief financial officer. Krish most recently served as chief financial officer and chief administrative officer of global information technology for NYSE Euronext, an S&P 500 company with a market capitalization of $11B and over $3.5 billion in annual revenues.
“Krish has deep strategic acumen and a 20 year track record of consistent execution, including turning cost centers into profit centers and exceeding Wall Street’s growth expectations quarter after quarter, even during a recession,” said Lonne Jaffe, CEO, Syncsort. “His rare mix of expertise in both technology and finance will be invaluable as we build on our successes over the last year with concentrated organic investments and acquisitions in the Big Data segment.”
Jaffe, who was recently appointed to Syncsort’s board of directors, joined the company last July
and quickly engineered an aggressive “Big Iron to Big Data
” corporate strategy across platforms such as Apache Hadoop, cloud-based systems and the mainframe. Venkataraman will report to Jaffe.
“Big Data is one of the most important secular growth opportunities in the technology industry today,” Venkataraman said. “I’m thrilled to join the accomplished leaders at Syncsort
, who have made the company a torch bearer in the Big Data revolution with its differentiated, high-value technology and unique market position.”
Before NYSE Euronext, Venkataraman served as chief administrative officer of equities liquid markets for Lehman Brothers, strategist for American Express’s financial advisory practice and as a mergers and acquisitions expert at Deloitte Consulting. He holds an MBA from Cornell University and a bachelor’s degree from Carnegie Mellon University
