The integration of these two first-rate technologies allows customers to easily share large tape libraries, such as StorageTek's Powderhorn® automated cartridge system, between mainframes, UNIX, and Windows systems. With this advance, Backup Express customers can now store data anywhere on their network using a simple client/server approach to automate MVS operations. Users can selectively secure and share data both on disk and in large StorageTek tape libraries to enable enterprise-wide storage management and remote vaulting. It also allows non-MVS users to access reliable mainframe automated tape libraries.
