Salt Lake City, Utah, March 17, 2008 – Backup Express from Syncsort Incorporated is now available for Novell Open Enterprise Server 2 (Linux). The seamless integration of the two solutions allows joint customers to successfully protect their data, applications and servers while also taking advantage of the Xen-based NetWare paravirtualization available in OES2.
Backup Express was the first solution to offer data protection for clustered OES environments and continues to provide extremely reliable Linux support, providing Novell customers with the full spectrum of backup and recovery features for SLES and OES. Working with Novell developers, at well above and beyond Yes! Certification level, Syncsort has pioneered advances in performance and functionality for enterprises that use Novell technologies. Support for OES2 will arm Novell users as they go ahead with migrating to Linux in the future.
Novell OES2 delivers award-winning file-and-print networking, communication capabilities and tools with unmatched security, reliability and scalability. In addition to Xen-based NetWare paravirtualization, OES2 includes 64-bit support of previously NetWare exclusive software services and storage management enhancements.

Backup Express includes protection for NSS (Novell Storage Services) volumes and properties on OES2 and SLES10 systems, and allows users migrating to SUSE LINUX, which Novell acquired in 2003, to restore data that they backed up on NetWare. Backup Express's industry- leading support for Novell includes support for SLES master servers, OES clients and device servers, eDirectory, GroupWise, NLBS, snapshots and backup through SMS. Backup Express is YES! certified on all Novell product lines.
