Woodcliff Lake, New Jersey, April 13, 2005 – Small and midsize businesses can now achieve the same robust and flexible data protection as large companies, thanks to a new version of Backup Express introduced today by Syncsort Incorporated.
Backup Express SMB is a high-performance data protection product tailored specifically for small and midsize network environments. It is currently available through Syncsort Backup Express Channel Partners. With Backup Express SMB, users will benefit from valuable Backup Express features such as media device automation, an easy-to-use browser-based GUI for administrator productivity and clustered system support.
Based on Syncsort's flagship Backup Express 2.3 product, Backup Express SMB additionally offers application data protection, disaster recovery and open file protection. Components available with Backup Express SMB include: application and database agents for hot backup and granular restore; snapshot agents; tape media device support; heterogeneous clients, small clustered environments backup; and NDMP agents for network attached storage devices, for data and application backup source or target. The Backup Express SMB master server is available on UNIX, Windows and Linux.
