WOODCLIFF LAKE, N.J. – July 01, 2013
Syncsort, a global leader in Big Data integration solutions, today announced new appointments and promotions to its Data Integration leadership team, naming Lonne Jaffe as Chief Executive Officer.
A 14 year technology industry veteran, Lonne Jaffe was tapped to apply his expertise in developing and executing strategies that deliver significant value to businesses grappling with game-changing technology shifts.
“The board is thrilled that Lonne Jaffe has decided to join Syncsort,” said Peter Sobiloff, chairman of the board of Syncsort Incorporated and Managing Director at Insight Venture Partners. “His broad knowledge spanning from mainframe to Big Data and his deep experience in enterprise mergers & acquisitions and technical strategy will add significantly to the business.”
“I am very excited to join the Syncsort team,” said Jaffe. “There is no greater disruptive force in the industry today than Big Data, and with its powerful technology, exceptional talent, and large existing customer base, Syncsort is uniquely positioned to capitalize on the incredible opportunity that Big Data represents, across both mainframe and open systems such as Hadoop.”

Lonne holds undergraduate and advanced degrees from Harvard University.
Continued Jaffe, “As an outside observer, I’ve been very impressed with the accomplishments to date of Syncsort’s Data Integration Business around Big Data: delivering the DMX-h
products for Hadoop acceleration and optimization; implementing advanced mainframe connectivity for Hadoop; creating a lightweight download experience for the Syncsort Hadoop products
; and getting an important performance-related and functional contribution included in the Apache Hadoop project.”
The Board is also delighted to announce additional changes to the executive team to support the growth of Syncsort’s Data Integration business. Josh Rogers, who was instrumental in the creation of the company’s Big Data strategy and who led the organization to successful execution, has been promoted to President. Gary Survis, who has driven significant improvements in the business’ digital marketing capabilities, will become Chief Marketing Officer. And, Tendű Yoğurtçu, who leads the team that developed the company’s Hadoop product line, is being promoted to Vice President of Engineering.
The Syncsort Data Integration and Data Protection businesses, which have different technology and go-to-market strategies, are being formally separated into two operating businesses. Flavio Santoni will continue to lead the Data Protection business as its Chief Executive Officer.
“The next logical progression for the organization is the creation of two separate operating businesses with their own leadership teams,” said Sobiloff. “This approach will provide both our businesses with the flexibility to continue delivering the most competitive solutions in their respective segments. Both leaders are outstanding and bring unique skills that will enable their organizations to create optimum value.”
